AMVR

Add-on for MultiView Rendering

One CAD model in. Every view out.

A Blender add-on that turns CAD products into consistent, batch-rendered image sets: import STEP and STL, standardize each product at the origin, build orthographic and perspective cameras with studio lighting, and render every product from every view in one click.

Blender

Comparing products by image only works when every image is taken the same way. AMVR keeps the camera, the light and the scale identical for every product, then names each file so a script can find it.

Up to9views per product: six orthographic, three perspective
4lighting presets, from soft to high key
3render modes: clay, full, or both
1click to render the whole batch

Get the highlights.

  • STEP and STL in. Each file becomes its own product. STEP converts through FreeCAD or STEPper; STL comes straight in.

    Blender
  • Standardized. Every product centered and scaled to the same size, so a screw and a housing read alike.

    Blender
  • A camera for every view. Six orthographic views and three perspectives, framed once for the whole batch.

    Blender
  • Clay or full render. A fast clay pass with cavity shading, your own materials, or both side by side.

  • Named to be found. One folder per product and one file per view, with the render mode in the name.

Built for datasets.

Everything that makes one product comparable with the next.

  • STEP and STL. STEP through FreeCAD or the STEPper add-on; STL imported directly. Mix both in one list.

  • Fit on import. Each product is scaled so its largest side matches a target size, and centered on the origin.

  • Auto smooth. Clears the faceted look of tessellated CAD and re-derives hard edges from an angle.

  • View sets. All nine views, the six orthographic ones, a standard four or a minimal three.

  • Custom views. Add any direction as an orthographic or perspective camera.

  • Orient by hand. Step through the batch and turn a product to face front, isolated from the rest.

  • Studio lighting. Soft, hard, dramatic or high key, with intensity and background color.

  • Batch render. Each product isolated in turn, so nothing bleeds between shots.

  • Predictable names. One folder per product and one file per view, with the render mode as a suffix.

  • Your settings stay yours. Engine, samples, resolution and format stay in Blender’s own settings.

  • Warns before you waste time. Objects outside the products, like the default cube, are flagged before a render.

  • Keeps going. Imports run in the background; a file that fails is skipped, not the whole batch.

Choose your views.

All orthographic views share one framing and all perspectives another, so a product reads at the same scale across the whole sheet.

All · 9 cameras. Front, back, top, bottom, right, left and three perspectives.

Orthographic · 6 cameras. Every side, without perspective, at one shared scale.

Standard · 4 cameras. Front, top, right and one perspective.

Minimal · 3 cameras. Front, top and right.

Five panels, in order.

The sidebar is laid out in the order you use it.

  1. Scene setup

A lighting preset and a background; your own world is left intact.

  2. Import products

STEP, STP and STL files, each as its own product collection.

  3. Standardize

Recenter, rescale to a target size, and fix faceted shading.

  4. Cameras and views

A view set, the front axis and framing padding.

  5. Batch render

Every product, every view, one click.

Named to be found.

Output is organized per product and named deterministically. Clay writes _clay, a full render writes no suffix, and Both writes _render and _clay side by side.

So a script, a spreadsheet or a training pipeline can find every view of every product without guessing.

Four looks.

Lighting presets build an MV_Lighting collection and their own world, without touching yours.

Studio Soft. Large soft area lights and even fill. The default.

Studio Hard. Smaller lights, crisper shadows and highlights.

Dramatic. A strong key, deep falloff and minimal fill.

High Key. Bright and nearly shadowless, white on white.
