Almanac – Ancient Cycles · Effective 5 October 2026

Almanac doesn’t collect any personal data. Everything it shows is calculated on your iPhone. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it doesn’t include any third-party code that collects data.

What stays on your iPhone

Your settings and choices. The calendars you show, the sites you follow, your reminder settings and similar choices are saved on your iPhone only. Deleting the app deletes them.

Your birthday, if you enter it. “Your birthday, anciently” saves the date on your iPhone so the card is there next time. It’s never sent anywhere. If you tap Share, the card goes only where you choose to send it, through the iOS share sheet.

Location, if you allow it. Almanac asks for your approximate location only while you’re using it. It uses your location for three things:

Your location is used on your iPhone, isn’t stored, and never leaves the device. You can use the app without allowing it, and you can change this at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Motion and compass sensors. On a site’s plan, the compass turns with your iPhone, and the glass effect follows how you tilt it. These readings are used on the moment and aren’t stored.

Reminders. When you follow a site, Almanac schedules its reminders on your iPhone. The countdown on your Lock Screen is created on your iPhone too. No server is involved. iOS asks for your permission before the first reminder, and you can turn them off at any time.

Widgets. The widgets keep their own small settings, such as which day a calendar wheel is turned to, on your iPhone.

Like other app data, these settings may be included in your iPhone’s backups, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy.

Children

Almanac doesn’t collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If Almanac ever starts collecting any data, it will ask you first and this page will say exactly what is collected and why.
